FREERUNNING, ACROBATICS (FLIPS & TRICKS)

THESE ARE NOT PARKOUR OR FREERUNNING CLASSES!!!!!!!!! JUST PLACES TO LEARN ACROBATICS

ome people who take up Parkour wish to start learning Freerunning or to move like the Yamakasi (L'Art du Deplacement). Or they just take a liking to other types of movement. The Australian Parkour Association doesn't teach flips and tricks, for one we are not qualified, and our insurance doesn't cover it. But we can provide you the details for locations to go learn them in a professional and safe environment. When learning movement arts like Freerunning and the L'Art du deplacement it is recommended you learn the spirit and principles of Parkour first or concurrently with your acrobatic training, as the spirit and principles are the same no matter how you move, just the end result is different.

WARNING!

THESE ARE NOT PARKOUR OR FREERUNNING CLASSES!!!!!!!!! JUST PLACES TO LEARN ACROBATICS

If you are going to the gym to start learning Parkour it is recommended that you do not start in the gym. The reason for this is that many people who start in the gym, never leave the gym. Because they feel safe in a padded environment, people throw themselves around and usually get hurt. After this happens many people are too scared to go outside because they think that if it's so easy to hurt themselves in the gym it will be worse outside. Learn outside first. Learn to respect your environment. Should you go into the gym afterwards you will then know when you are doing things that you would never do outside, this will make your training in the gym more realistic as you have better perspective.

If you have any Locations to add for your area, be they in a city or a regional centre then feel free to send the details to be added to this page.
